Oh so close!

Here we are back from the Canberra marathon and Mr lulu came oh so close to his sub 3hr goal with a finish time of 3.00.12 on the clock. A 3 min pb, but where did those annoying few seconds come from.
It was great to see everyone in Canberra and there were some great runs from everyone, with the exception of me who didn't make it to the start line of the 5km.

I was feeling absolutely shattered on Saturday and although I could have dragged myself around I really couldn't be bothered. So I stood and cheered the 10km and made do with that.

I'm hoping a week in Hawaii which is coming up soon will perk me up and I'll be back some reasonable running.

I managed a nice 5km trot around Yarrawonga last week and will go for a run with Mr lulu in the morning. It will be the only time when I have any chance of keeping up with him for 3kms :) The benefit of not running much is that my niggles have recovered so let's hope that is the last of it as I really can't be doing with any more physio bills!

Wow only 12 seconds! Must be so frustrating to come that close and not go under that magic 3 hour mark. Still got to be happy with any kind of PB I reckon.

Enjoy your holiday in Hawaii Lulu it might be just the tonic. And don't worry it seems that in this sport people tend to get better the longer they stay with it. Sooner or later your body's going to come to the realization that your not going to quit exercising it5 and give up and play ball so to speak.

It was great to see you in Canberra, if only very briefly.
I think you will find the 12 seconds is 8 seconds chip time. Oh so close indeed! But for a minor hill, puddle, whatever...

In the old days (pre course certification) that would have been a sub-3. Still, it's a damn good run, and he can say he's "run a 3 hour marathon" ;)

Sorry I missed you - we went west on the course instead of east, and also had a late finish with LLs.

Enjoy a niggle-free Hawaii!

Thanks so very very very much for all your cheering on Sunday. I can't imagine trying to run that race without the CR cheersquad ... or cheersquads as it was.

Congrats to Steve. Wow, that's still such a hot time.

Enjoy Hawaii. Hope you get some running in over there.

Hope your niggles continue to improve. I am still pondering the 3 seconds from my last half marathon so I can relate to Mr Lulu's 12 seconds. Still, as I tell myself, the goal is still intact.

What happened to that Brissie trip you keep promising? What does Hawaii have that we don't?
