A tough one!
I parked outside gates and ran down to the SWEAT meeting point to give myself an extra warm-up this morning. Then we did a quick one lap of the oval and we were off on our outside park fartlek. I kept up with the pack on the warm up section before the first surge and so consequently was already buggered by the time they took off. Things didn't get much better and this was a bit of an effort this morning. Not quite sure what happened but I certainly wasn't too spritely and was very pleased when it was all over. Then I had to run back to the car.. a slow jog was all I could manage!I'm wondering if I didn't eat enough yesterday as I had the following:
Banana, kiwi and yoghurt for breakfast
2 pieces of toast and some cheese for lunch
a small piece of chicken and some sweet potato and zucchini, 2 glasses of lovely rose and a couple of squares of chocolate ( lindt of course!) for my dinner.
Is this enough when I ran in the morning and did Pilates in the evening? Any ideas anyone.? Either that or I wasn't well enough hydrated or maybe I was just tired. Anyway it's a tricky balancing act between eating enough to be able to train well and little enough that I can still try and lose weight. Might have to consult a professional in the field at some point. In the meantime I think I'll try a food diary and see if there are any patterns.
Made up for it this morning though when I met Jen_runs and Don Juan for coffee and indulgence at the Lindt cafe. There were nearly tears (Don Juan's) when we were told that there was only one chocolate croissant available and I'm eternally grateful to the Don and Jen for sacrificing their croissant so I could have what I'd been looking forward to all week. Thanks very much! Looking forward to CR drinks tonight and more CR socialising on Monday evening when CJ is in town..what a social whirl.. not sure I have time to do any work!

Hey LuLu
I saw a dietician to get a program of what I should eat with all the training. I was not eating enough and was having head spins and often felt sick... not enough carbs. If your not sure it is good idea to see a sports dietician who can tell you how much you should eat to feel good but still loose weight.
see you later :)
PS the Lindt cafe sounds fantastic!!! Do they use Lindt chocolate in their food? YUM!!! My fav is the 75% dark chocolate (it is not aloud in the house as it gets eaten very quickly!!)
It was lovely to catch up with you this morning; we must do that more often - but not too often ;-)
As for yesterday, a lack of food I think was likely to be a contributing factor. I'd normally eat that much food before lunch!! My normal diet would consist of:
Breakfast - cereal of some description; coffee; 1 piece of soy & linseed toast
Morning tea - current fav is a Bakers Delight cape fruit & nut roll
Lunch - sushi rolls or tuna and salad sandwich
Afternoon tea: protein shake or bar or nuts + fruit
Dinner: similiar to your dinner yesterday,
plus I drink over 2ltrs per day. I know it's really difficult to balance getting enough fuel with trying to lose some weight but perhaps your intake yesterday was just a bit too low given your energy levels. I think a visit to a dietitian would be a good idea. Sorry for the long post,
J.
Food intake - looks like way too little chocolate for my liking!
I agree with Wobbly Man!!! Seriously, you are probably not eating enough. Before a run sssion, particularly if its going to be a hard one, I will have some form of carbs like an english muffin with jam, or banana, etc.
Looking forward to Monday evening!
Definitely eat more.
I was in touch with my feminine side at Lindts and coped pretty well. There are real tears if I go to a party without heavy red wine and i'm surrounded by light fruity cats-piss and room-temperature beer. I don't fake it then.
