Dress rehearsal

As Ellie is doing the Mother's Day Classic in a few weeks I volunteered to take her to the domain and show her the course. I picked her up in the new lulumobile and we zipped up to the city.

We set off at what was supposed to be a leisurely pace but did the first km in just under 6 mins.. oops. After that we settled down and did one lap of the MDC course and then headed out to the Opera House and back.

It was a gorgeous morning for running, clear skies, sun glistening off the harbour and not too many tourists around that early to get in our way. We saw plenty of runners but no CRs this morning.

Coming back into the domain we headed up a few small hills which seemed hard work at that stage but we maintained our pace. It was good having Ellie with me otherwise I would have been tempted to stop when the clock ticked over the hour but we kept going till we hit 65 mins and 10km on the dot. No real problems which is very encouraging. A bit of itb pain in the left leg but my right knee which is my main concern seems very happy at the moment...long may it continue.

This week I ran just over 30km and my total for the month was 109km. Slowly building back up to a reasonable level now and feeling pretty good.

Finished off with some coffee and chat at a cafe in Clovelly; a perfect way to end a run.

I got home to find Mr lulu looking a bit tired after being sucked into the SWEAT squad vortex and being dragged around the park at high speed. Once he'd recovered we headed out for a running related barbecue to celebrate Kit, Gil, Alison and Kulinda's Canberra marathon triumph. A great afternoon of eating, drinking and running stories with lots of the runners as well as Sean and Cindy. Very pleasant way to spend Sunday afternoon.

Food:
B: Tropical Orange PS
L: Barabecue steak, sausage and salads plus some a small piece of Alison's delicious chocolate cake

Lovely morning, sounds like your back on track Lulu. You have racked up some K's over the last fortnight or so.

What's this about new wheels, first GG with a new pushy now you with a new car. I thought CR's got around on your feet, well apart from me that is ;-)
